Braiden Partin won his third game of the season Thursday as Southside defeated Cabot, 7-2.

Partin scattered seven hits and struck out five over six innings. He also drove in two runs with a pair of hits.

Matt Schilling and Landon Chaffin drove in two runs apiece for the winners (4-4, 1-0).

The Mavericks scored four runs in the first inning and, after a shaky first, Partin settled down and threw five scoreless.
